So, I've looked at this drawing already, but I wasn't able to fully appreciate it until now. Sure, it was really well done, but the vintage aesthetic of the pencils make Gidorah appear more foreboding. The drawing itself reminds me of those old medieval drawings of dragons; if I was a knight back in the day and I opened one of those codexes, and saw this on the page describing dragons, I'd be intimidated, lol.

Thanks for the compliment! That was a cool way to describe the drawing, and I'm happy you enjoy it!

Out of curiosity, what software are you using to draw, or is this done on canvas or paper? And also, are you using a drawing tablet, if so, what brand? I only ask because, some software I find is more efficient for production time. The same too, can go for hardware, I find it goes quicker with a monitor tablet. As for the art, it really ain't bad at all, especially if you rushed it.

Thanks!, yeah i find that even if i rush i can get the idea from my head down well enough, this comes down to farmilliarity i would say, use what you have and be comfortable with it, for me thats Clip Studio EXV1 and a Wacom One(like 40 euros) apart from that I use a downloaded brush on CSP known as "[AA] Gel Pen" by an artist called Aeridis

So, is this monster based off any mythical creature, or is it just a unique creation?

rhysers3000 responds:

This was my take on a werewolf transformation, a traveler in a traditional highland kilt, in an old Caledonian forest being changed under a full moon 🧙‍♂️

Maybe if I delved deeper into a specific character then I would spin it as something closer to native American wendigos

How this is ranked three stars after five votes is beyond me. The actual artwork is WAYYY better than like 80 percent of the stuff I've seen on this site so far.

I'm happy to see that you like it! Sometimes people just don't click with some art and that's fine. But I'm still glad that some people still like the stuff I make.

Bro, I've seen vids of hikers using these kinds of cabins. They got them up in Alaska too! But this piece has a creepy folktale vibe to it, like a creepy mural you'd find in an old book or codex.

rhysers3000 responds:

Thanks!, I think a big part of that is how liminal the drawing actually is, there is alot of underused space and the lighting seems to make no sense, pair that with the rain on the window with no visible outside and you get a pretty isolating picture, totally unintended of course but absolutely an idea i will explore in the future, maybe set in alaska, alot of cool folklore and snowscapes to play with, channel some Until Dawn and Long Dark vibes into it 😎

The first with the graffiti in BG is 🔥.

LaPitayota responds:

Honestly I liked that version too!
